When we began our water experiment, we added spoons to the list- the Spoon System, and we now almost always eat with only our favorite soup spoon. We have a container on the kitchen counter where unique spoons are visibly stored. The spoons do get a brief rinsing after eating to remove food, but there is no concern over sterility to prevent germs from spreading. You can buy single, unique soup spoons at garage sales and thrift stores.
